Biography
Reverend Dr. Karen Alexander heard the call of the Lord to ministry while deployed aboard the USS BATAAN (LHD 5) in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. After several years of ministerial training under the tutelage of the late Bishop William Darryl Scott, Sr., Senior Pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Dr. Alexander was licensed as a Baptist minister on April 30, 2006.
Dr. Alexander also served in the United States Navy for twenty-six years and recently retired as a Commander in the Medical Service Corps. She has had the distinct privilege to travel to many ports of call worldwide as an ambassador not only for the United States but for God. Since becoming a licensed minister, she has preached to many diverse Christian congregations within the United States and in many different countries around the world.
Encouraged by her former pastor, she enrolled at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio with a focus on Supernatural/Deliverance Ministries. She successfully defended her dissertation, “Spiritual BootCamp: Where Prayer Warriors are Made” and earned her Doctorate in Ministry on December 18, 2015.
On June 8th, 2019, she birthed RUAH Ministries, Inc. RUAH Ministries is a para ministry dedicated to educating, equipping, empowering, and activating the Body of Christ in the area of intercessory prayer. Her goal is to expand the prayer lives of those she impacts to better fulfill the commission outlined in Mark 16 and James 15.
Currently, she is enrolled at Lancaster Bible College, pursuing a degree to become a licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. As she plans to incorporate Faith-Based counseling into her ministry.
